Disney Springs Reopening: 5.20.2020

- Today, Disney Springs has opened its vendors to the public again after over 2 months of closure due to the COVID-19 virus. With special social distancing plans in place, people must wear a mask and stand in line at the 6ft. markers, along with other precautionary measures. I have not heard about the parks reopening yet, but Vice President Mike Pence is soon to be meeting with Orlando on Wednesday to talk about the cities (and theme parks!) reopening. I am sure everyone is just as excited as I am to see what Disney has in store with their reopening.

Closing: 4.27.2020

- As we all probably know, Walt Disney World is temporarily closed and "will remain closed until further notice." This is a huge loss for many people, including those who had to cancel their trip, and ones who bought season passes. As far as I know, Disney is being very flexible with their refund options, and if you contact https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/, chat support should be able to help you in any way possible.
- But when will it open? Personally, I think that it will re-open sooner than expected, as the Florida governor seems eager about reopening the Floridian economy. Beaches are currently opening this week and so are a couple businesses. Also, on the website, Disney World is taking reservations starting June 1st, and I don't think that they would trick their customers into booking a reservation until they were fairly certain that they will reopen. However, Insider reports are saying that Disney World will probably open on January 1st, 2021. I think that January 1st is a little late, considering it would be right during the cold/flu season. If there are even just a couple months Disney World can reopen for, I'm sure that they'll take the opportunity.
- What will happen with the attendance? Reports are saying that because people are so worried about COVID-19, Disney is predicting about 50% attendance in the first year after reopening, and 75% in the second. With the new concept of social distancing, they might have people stand a bit farther in line, and make more things completely mobile on our phones, such as ordering food and Fastpass+.
- Will Disney raise or lower their prices after reopening? I was reading a blog post from   www.disneyworldtourist.com, and I agreed with them that Disney only charges what the people can spend. So, with over 20 million Americans out of work, I believe that when Disney reopens, they will offer good deals and quite possibly even make their products cheaper.

New Recipes: 4.11.2020

Without being able to experience the magic in the parks, Disney is hoping to help create the magic at home with new, officially released recipes.

Dole Whip:

Aloha Isle, Adventureland Dole Whip

Just this past week, Disney released their iconic Dole Whip recipe that has grown in popularity over the last 2 years.

The recipe included blending 1 big scoop of ice cream, 4 ounces of pineapple juice, and 2 cups of frozen pineapple in a blender until smooth.

As we all know, the Dole Whip is my favorite ice cream snack at all of Walt Disney World, and it is an absolute must-have whenever we visit, so of course, I had to try it out:

Because we were low on pineapple, and I didn't want to make any unnecessary trips to the store, I had to make do with only 1 cup of pineapple per serving, but it honestly worked out great, and I would highly recommend doing it instead of 2 cups.

It honestly was a pretty big serving, coming in at 338 calories per bowl. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to achieve the iconic swirl because it was pretty liquidy, even after freezing it for 30 min.

Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe (with 1 cup frozen pineapple) to all the Dole Whip lovers out there. It tastes exactly like the park's version and is super tasty. I love making these, and I know that using fresh pineapple would probably taste even better! 10/10!

Churros:

Snack Vendors Churros

These iconic treats from Disney World are such a great snack for the family, with the sweet, crispy cinnamon exterior, and the soft, pillowy inside, dipped in decadent melted chocolate; ugh! My tastebuds are watering already.

However, because I'm on a "health grind" for my 2020 new year's resolution (yes I'm still keeping it!) I don't eat fried food, but after watching and reading many reviews, I can conclude that this is the real deal. But my friend made them and she would highly suggest it!

Mickey Beignets:

Port Orleans French Quarter Mickey Beignets

I think I'm correct when I say that during one of the most recognizable scenes from Disney's Princess and the Frog, "I'm Getting My Restaurant" we all craved Big Daddy's beignets, dusted with mountains of powdered sugar and lots of love.

Well, now you can make your dream come true with the recipe for these classic treats, Mickey-shaped right here: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/04/disneymagicmoments-create-magical-mickey-mouse-shaped-beignets-at-home-with-this-fan-favorite-classic-disney-recipe/

Unfortunately, I will not be trying these out (as much as I really want to!) but be sure to leave a comment down below if you do decide to make them.
